The Professional Women’s Network has been working on a special program with the European Union, the Me-Totem Project, aimed at advancing women into senior leadership positions. The project focused on establishing mentoring relationships to advance women in various stages of their careers and also identified challenges facing women in career development.
The joint EU project has been developed and spearheaded by the Professional Women’s Network’s sister association in Milan, PWA Milan, and co-funded by the European Commission Directorate General Justice to explore the challenges faced by women in their career development and the benefits of mentoring. The results and findings of this joined project with the European Union aim to contribute to the improvement of gender balance in economic decision-making and benefit positions at all levels of the hierarchy.
“ The joint project with the EU and our Professional Women’s Network has been extremely eye opening and informative. The project provides a great deal of valuable insight that individual women, companies and organizations can utilize,“ Says Christy Sando, Munich Coordinator in Charge of bringing the MeTotem Project to Munich. “Beyond the findings of the study, our event scheduled for September 13th has been structured in a way to provide women and companies with ideas and tools on how to manage the challanges facing women in career development.”
